We’re delighted to share that Pure Sight director Dr Alison Chiu has been elected to the management board of the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (AUSCRS).
AUSCRS brings together cataract and refractive surgeons from across Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on advancing education, research and standards of care in the field. Board members are elected by their peers within the Society.
What this means for Dr Chiu’s role
As a board member, Dr Chiu will contribute to AUSCRS’s work supporting education and innovation in cataract and refractive surgery across the region, alongside a committee that includes President Jacqueline Beltz and Vice-President Andrea Ang.
Why this matters to our patients
Involvement at this level keeps Dr Chiu closely connected to the latest developments in cataract and refractive surgery, from emerging techniques to evolving standards of care. For our patients at Paddington and Richmond, that means the advice and treatment options you’re offered continue to reflect current best practice in Australian and New Zealand ophthalmology.
