Dr Alison Chiu, Medical Director
FRANZCO, FWCRS, PhD, MBBS (Hons), BMedSc (Hons I), Grad Dip Refractive Surgery
Dr Chiu is the Medical Director of Pure Sight Eye Surgeons and a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specialising in cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) surgery. She has contributed to over 40,000 laser vision corrections, over 10,000 cataract and other lens-based procedures and is recognised internationally for her expertise in refractive surgery and extended depth of focus intraocular lens technologies. Dr Chiu completed her medical degree with Honours at the University of Sydney, holds a PhD, and trained in ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital.
Dr Adam Plant, Retinal and Cataract Surgeon

Dr Plant is an ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases, including vitreoretinal surgery, as well as routine and complex cataract surgery. He graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Medicine with distinction and completed a PhD at the University of Sydney on diabetic retinopathy. He trained through the Sydney Eye Hospital network and completed fellowships in Medical Retina, Uveitis, and Vitreoretinal Surgery in the United Kingdom.
Dr Joanne Teong, Ophthalmologist

Dr Teong is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). She studied medicine at the University of Notre Dame in Perth and completed her ophthalmology training in New Zealand. Her subspecialty fellowship in Medical Retina was undertaken at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. Dr Teong’s areas of interest include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, glaucoma, and complex cataract surgery.
Jennifer Danials - Clinical Lead

Jennifer is an experienced senior orthoptist with over a decade of clinical practice, bringing a strong foundation in refractive and cataract surgery screening and post-operative management, binocular vision, ocular motility, and diagnostic assessment to her role at Pure Sight Eye Surgeons. She works closely with our ophthalmology team to support the diagnosis and management of a wide range of eye conditions, combining technical rigour with a patient-centred approach that puts comfort and clarity at the centre of every consultation.
Mary Raco, Senior Orthoptist
Dip App Sci (Cumb), DOBA
Mary brings more than 35 years of experience as a senior orthoptist to Pure Sight Eye Surgeons, with a career defined by close collaboration across the full spectrum of eye care. Her clinical focus centres on the assessment and management of strabismus and complex eye muscle disorders, and she has worked alongside ophthalmologists in the broader care of patients with cataract disease, retinal conditions, and refractive disorders.
Dr Jonathan Yip, Consulting Optometrist

Dr Yip is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist who graduated from the UNSW School of Optometry with honours. He has worked across primary care, aged care, mobile services, and ophthalmology settings. At Pure Sight, Jonathan leads our dedicated dry eye clinic and plays a key role in the screening and assessment of refractive surgery candidates. His special interests include dry eye disease, anterior eye disease, and glaucoma management.
Dr Jennifer Pack, Consulting Optometrist

Jennifer is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist with a strong clinical focus in refractive surgery screening, cataract care, and dry eye management. She completed her Master of Clinical Optometry at UNSW, where she received the award for highest performance in anterior and posterior ocular diseases.
